| AWARD WINNING WINES |
Wonderfully located on Highway 101 is the storefront of McDowell Wine & Mercantile, directly across from the Hopland Inn and next door to the famous Blue Bird Cafe. Standing now for over 100 years, the building itself is thematic of an old Western style general store, a motif that gives our customers the feeling of being brought back to historical Hopland and offers more to the wine tasting experience. Years ago McDowell's winegrower Bill Crawford spent many summer hours applying rustic barn-siding, installing a knotty pine ceiling as well as flooring, and the multitude of retrofits necessary to renovate the building.

Visitors can enjoy tasting McDowell's award winning Syrah and other Rhône varietals. You can browse the stores garden items, ceramics, and western influenced gifts. While tasting our wines enjoy a sampling of McDowells specialty dips, sauces, and chocolate. Our affordable wines were developed just for the tasting room like the Rodeo Red and William Roan Shiraz. Tasting is complimentary and we pour most of what is available for purchase daily. We occasisionaly have tasting room only special sales on select wines. Call us @ 707-744-8911 or stop in and say hello to the tasting room crew and sample America's Best Syrah.
